KitSZN: Vintage Vibes
We throw it back on tonight’s episode. Either by honoring past championships, their state or simple just collar/vintage vibes. If you like collars (you know we do), this is the episode for you!

Greenville Triumph: 8th State Kit '26

The Greenville Triumph "8th State" Kit for 2026. Earned a score of 3.00 from the team.
It's whose clues? Wait, that's not what we're talking about.
The Greenville Triumph released their 8th state kit with alternating light and dark green hoops, which took me back to the '90s and the classic detective show Blue's Clues.
State pride is woven into the kit, including a South Carolina flag beneath the collar and a custom Eighth State hip tag commemorating the year South Carolina officially joined the United States.
Eight tonal hoops define the kit, symbolizing both the Triumph’s eighth season and South Carolina’s entry as the eighth state to join the Union.
The white color with a navy stripe across it is an extremely nice touch that makes the kit pop. You can tell this is one of Hummel's high-quality jerseys just by the details on the shirt, but beyond the quality, Greenville has a lot to be asked for when it comes to creativity.
Overall, this is a great shirt that will look good at work or on the field.
Our Score: 3.00
Phoenix Rising: Championship Kit '26

Phoenix's throwback to their championship season, when they played as the away team for the entire tournament while mounting multiple comebacks wins each round before lifting the trophy, is a nice nod but falls flat in almost every way.
This shirt is a plain white polo, and you get what you get. The bold red and alternative logo are nice touches, and everything looks sharp, but as we type this, it's hard not to yawn, which clearly explains the low score.
Our Score: 2.13
Charleston Battery: '96 Anniversary Kit '26

The Charleston Battery clearly knew what they were doing when they were calling back their 1996 USISL championship season. In celebrating the club's 1996 USISL Championship vs the Charlotte Eagles, this kit takes direct inspiration from the kits worn that victorious night.
It's clean, classic, and still creative. It'll look sharp wherever you rock it. One of the most underappreciated features is the sponsor across the center, with a faded white box that adds a splash of color to an already awesome Jersey.
The throwback collar with the nice giant white base and the red and black stripes going around will make sure that you will look good for business or pleasure.
Retro vibes are in but the Battery have retro vibes AND history to back it. Few clubs have this in the USL and we love to see clubs show that history off - welcome to the 5's club 🔥
Our Score: 5.00
Sacramento Republic: Republic for All Kit '26

This Republic for All kit got a middle-of-the-road score - 3, which it clearly deserved. Representing a community forged by fight, belonging, and an indomitable spirit, welcoming everyone who shares that commitment that stands with the club.
The white base may be considered boring to some, but with the pop of the maroon and the diagonal stripes that give a nod to the classic Sacramento Republic FC/ this is a really nice and clean shirt for any Sacramento fan. Going with a White base and utilizing Maroon on the shoulders and collar. That Maroon sash features 7 stripes- a Sacramento Republic staple - is more than just a design. The 7 Stripes also represent the Seven Generations Principle.
This is an indigenous worldview that believes that decisions today should honor and benefit those who come before us. This worldview also comes in to reflect Wilton Rancheria - the only federally recognized tribe in Sacramento County - made history for ownership of the Sacramento Republic.
This isn't just a sash or a kit, it is a deeply rooted connection between today and generations of old - but still, a clean looking kit at the end of the day.
Our Score: 3.00
New Mexico United: Vintage Kit '26

This shirt is 100% saved by its color - that Tourqouise. If you watched the episode where we talked about this kit, it is clear we are A-Okay with New Mexico United changing their entire identity to this amazing teal.
One of the best times of the USL season is when New Mexico United go full Turquoise.
The Black color, Black sleeves, and Black sponsor across the front really make sure this teal pops. But outside of that, this is just another Puma template. Minimal details, clean lines, and look that feels retro.
The Turquoise base just stands out. Thrown in that retro Black collar, cuffs and single horizontal stripe, and this kit belongs in the 90's.
Our Score: 3.63
It's a clean and simple episode with various attempts to honor the past. From past championships to past generations - all these kits bring a bit of class along with them. Plus, if you are sucker for a good polo collar, how could you not at least want these?
